I thought I'd kick off the new year with my first gamasutra blog post about 7 truths of indie game development.
I started writing it last year because of some post mortems that I read. I wondered if there were people coming into indie game development with unrealistic expectations of what they could achieve and how, and was worried that it might prevent them from keeping on trying or put them off from trying in the first place. So I wrote this and left it unpublished for a few days while I made sure it was absolutely useful and honest, then nervously pressed publish one day after I got back to work after christmas.
It has had a great reception, it even got featured on the front page! And people have contacted me saying they did find it useful, which I am so happy about, if it only helped one person I'd be happy :)
Do you have any advice you would like to pass on? Email us and we'll add it to our blog :)
